Prof. Capt. Eddy Sumartono - Exclusive Greeting Cards |
“Eid
al-Fitr 2025 Greetings”
By: Prof. Capt. Eddy Sumartono,
DBA., Ph.D.
Celebrating Victory with a Pure and
Grateful Heart
As the blessed month of Ramadan comes
to an end, we welcome a moment eagerly awaited by Muslims worldwide: Eid
al-Fitr 1446 H. On this special occasion, I, Prof. Capt. Eddy Sumartono,
DBA., Ph.D., extend my heartfelt greetings: Happy Eid al-Fitr 2025,
Minal Aidin wal Faizin, please forgive me for any wrongdoings, both physically
and spiritually to all Muslims celebrating this joyous day.
The Meaning of Eid al-Fitr: Returning
to Purity
Eid al-Fitr is more than just a
holiday or a time for festive gatherings. It is a symbol of victory, a turning
point for every Muslim who has endured a month of trials and self-restraint
during Ramadan. The term 'Eid al-Fitr' itself means 'returning to purity,'
signifying a renewal of the soul, a cleansing of the heart, and a commitment to
righteousness.
For an entire month, we have observed
fasting, restraining our hunger, thirst, and desires. We have also devoted
ourselves to worship, strengthened our faith, and drawn closer to Allah SWT.
Now, on this sacred day, we celebrate our triumph in becoming better
individuals—more patient, more sincere, and more grateful.
Eid: A Time for Reconciliation and
Strengthening Bonds
Eid al-Fitr also teaches us about the
importance of reconciliation and strengthening relationships. In our
daily lives, we inevitably make mistakes, whether intentionally or not.
Therefore, Eid serves as a moment to cleanse our hearts, reunite with family,
friends, and colleagues, and fortify the bonds of brotherhood.
With the rapid advancements of modern
life, we acknowledge that distance and busy schedules often hinder our ability
to maintain close relationships. However, in this digital era, we can still
reach out and connect with our loved ones, regardless of physical barriers. Eid
reminds us of the significance of maintaining strong connections, fostering
compassion, and spreading kindness to all.
Reflections on Ramadan and Post-Eid
Hopes
Ramadan has trained us to be more
disciplined, patient, and generous. As Ramadan concludes, our challenge is to
preserve the positive habits we have cultivated over the past month. Eid should
not mark the end of our spiritual journey but rather the beginning of a new
chapter in leading a meaningful life.
As an academic and practitioner in
economics, business, and the maritime industry, I see that the principles
instilled during Ramadan—such as honesty, integrity, diligence, and social
responsibility—are applicable in all aspects of life, including work and
business. Let us use Eid as a momentum to keep improving ourselves, work
harder, and contribute more significantly to society and the nation.
A Message of Unity and Tolerance
Amidst the diversity that enriches
Indonesia, Eid teaches us to uphold tolerance and mutual respect. We
live in a pluralistic society where differences should be seen as a blessing
rather than a source of division. Let us continue to maintain harmony,
strengthen solidarity, and work together to build a more progressive and united
nation.
Sustaining the Spirit of Sharing and
Social Care
One of the core values of Ramadan and
Eid al-Fitr is sharing joy with others. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) has taught us the importance of caring for those less fortunate.
Therefore, let us continue the spirit of giving—whether through zakat, charity,
or any form of assistance to those in need. By sharing, we not only support
others but also purify our wealth and nurture a sense of empathy within
ourselves.
Hopes and Prayers on This Blessed Day
On this auspicious day, I would like
to extend my prayers and best wishes for all of us:
- May
Allah SWT accept our worship and forgive our past sins.
- May
we all be granted good health, abundant blessings, and happiness in the
days ahead.
- May
our relationships grow stronger, bringing us peace and prosperity.
- May All People in the world continue to progress, with its people thriving in unity and
harmony.
Closing Remarks
Finally, I once again extend my
warmest wishes for a Happy Eid al-Fitr 2025, 1 Syawal 1446 H. Let us
celebrate this day of victory with pure hearts, immense gratitude, and
boundless joy. May we always be under Allah’s guidance and find ease in all our
endeavors.
Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum, Minal
Aidin wal Faizin. Please forgive me for any wrongdoings, both physically and
spiritually.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi
wabarakatuh.
